With gas prices hitting record highs, it's big time to know where to find the cheapest gas stations.
It is in the city centers of the largest French cities, Paris, Lyon and Marseille, that prices at the pump are the most expensive.
The second place of the most expensive stations is held by motorway stations.
In third place are stations that are on the outskirts of medium-sized cities where prices are starting to be more affordable.
To save, this is not where you will find the cheapest gasoline. The cheapest petrol stations are found in supermarkets, supermarkets and hypermarkets.
The problem is that it's not always close. So to find the cheapest gas station near you, use the Zagaz site or the Carbeo site.
We prefer the Carbeo site, which is really easy to use. Even if we don't have a car, we tested it for you. In two clicks, you choose your fuel and the postal code where you want to go to refuel.
We discover for example that in Paris, on the super unleaded 98, the cheapest station today is the Esso express station at Porte de Saint Ouen at 1.469 €/L. In Marseille with the same fuel, the cheapest stations are the Esso express Mazargues station in the 9th arrondissement and the Géant Casino station in the Valmante district, both for €1.479/L.
To save, take a quick tour of one of the two sites before going to fill up, the differences at the checkout can be enormous.
For a 50 L tank, i.e. that of a city car, by choosing the €1.5/L station instead of the €1.7/L one, you will save €10 on a full tank. Do not choose your gas pump by chance, and tell us your experiences in the matter in the comments!
