Remove the seat cushion from the chair frame and the original cushion fabric. Tip:When selecting your new fabric, choose one that matches your dining room décor.
Lay the seat frame cushion side down on the liner. Trace three inches from the edge of the cushion around the entire frame using a temporary fabric pen. Cut along the line.
Attach the liner to the frame with the staple gun. Start by stapling the lining to the frame at the center point on each side, and then at each corner, pulling the fabric taut around the frame. After the sides and corners are stapled in place, continue to secure the lining to the frame by working from the center point to the corner.
Trim excess fabric along the outer edge of the staple line.
Lay the lined seat frame face down on the fabric. Trace three inches from the edge of the cushion around the entire frame using a temporary fabric pen. Cut along the line. Tip:If you're using a patterned fabric, properly position the design on the seat cushion.
Attach the fabric to the frame with the staple gun. Start by stapling the framing fabric at the center point of each side, then at each corner, pulling the fabric tightly around the frame.
After the sides and corners are stapled in place, continue to secure the fabric to the frame by working from the center point to each corner. Pull the fabric snugly around the curved corners to eliminate creases on the top side of the cushion.
After covering the seat cushion with new fabric, put it back on the chair frame with the original accessories.
