Interior decoration is of course a matter of taste. When some prefer it sober and discreet, others are rather of the opinion that it gives all its identity to a place and opt for shocking details. After the ceramic pots that represent female breasts, here is an object with a very different function and style but which has just as much of a small effect:the blackout curtains that transform the outdoor landscape into a posh city center. It's not very clear ? We explain:these are black blinds on which urban landscapes are recreated thanks to hundreds of small holes. The latter are crossed by daylight, which illuminates the illustration and gives the impression of being on top of the Empire State Building (or almost).
The HoleRoll brand blinds have been designed by Ukrainian designers, and they combine both complete darkness (better for sleeping and considered better for your health) and just enough light to not have too much difficulty in wake up in the morning. They exist in a New York version, with its mythical skyscrapers, and in a London version, recognizable thanks to its business tower at 30 St Mary Axe, more commonly called "The Gherkin" (the gherkin in VF) because of its original form. Finally, for those who do not have the city soul, there is a last version which simply represents a starry sky. Very nice!
So, does the concept appeal to you?
