Bonsai is not a green plant but a tree! It is therefore less inclined than the first to resist your interior, and the choice of a species adapted to your environment is essential. Choose tropical or subtropical species, which can withstand indoor life. This done, take an interest in its pot:deep or flat, each species needs a pot adapted to its roots, find out when buying. Finally, put it in a pot in a draining substrate, which will prevent the stagnation of water and therefore the rotting of its roots. All you have to do is place it in a strategic place:exposed to sunlight (near a window), in a ventilated place.
Watering is the main point of bonsai cultivation:neither too much water nor too little, the ideal being to sprinkle it in a fine rain on the foliage as soon as the surface soil is dry. There are watering cans specially designed for these demanding little trees. In summer, if it is really hot, you can even water it up to twice a day. Bonsai also appreciates fertilizer. Give it a little cure twice a year, in autumn and spring. On the other hand, respect a vegetative rest in winter, beneficial to most species. Bonsai are fragile and generally do not resist the invasion of parasites for long:keep a close eye on the small animals that could infest it in order to treat them as soon as possible. Finally, these small trees need to be pruned often, to be shaped. If this difficult art becomes better and better mastered with time and patience, have light scissors:as when cutting your hair alone, it is better to cut a little than too much!
