3 ideas for DIY costumes for the New Year.

3 ideas for DIY costumes for the New Year.

You think you're dressing up for New Year's Day but you don't still haven't found how?

Whatever the occasion, I love dressing up.

The more original it is, the more I like it. But what I love above all is making my disguises for cheap.

This is why I have exclusively selected 3 easy, ultra-economical and original examples for you.

Here are my 3 simple and inexpensive disguise tips.

1. Barbamama, for girls

Barbamama, do you see who it is? But if, you know, the mother of the cartoon Barbapapa!

To look like him as much as possible, you have to wear black , preferably tights and a tight-fitting long-sleeved T-shirt. You should find this in your closet, right?

Like all Barbapapas, our dear Barbamama has wide, very wide hips...

You will therefore have to slip two cushions into your tights to widen your little butt as much as possible.

Your costume is already starting to take shape. But for the highlight of the show, you still have to style your hair in a bun and to them tie with a red scrunchie, then cover your face and hands with black makeup.

And here is the job! A perfect Barbamama costume for €2 (just the price of black make-up, which keeps for several months)!

2. The green giant, for boys

I made this costume last year.

It cost me €8.50 and everyone was blown away. For the making, I needed green make-up (€3), of string (€0.50) and a piece of fabric cut and sewn to make a tunic (€5). I was inspired by this photo:

The day before my little party, I collected leaves, which I threaded one by one on 2 pieces of string measuring a little over a meter (I made a hole in the leaf, then I put the string through this hole).

2 hours before the party, I put on the tunic. I smeared the makeup on my face, my legs and on my chest (for the back, I asked a friend). Then I passed a first string of leaves across the body (between my shoulder and my hip) and the second around my stomach.

I was ready for the evening! Ho ho ho, green giant!

3. A mixed disguise:the robot!

This one is absolutely free . Just collect 2 boxes at the entrance to supermarkets (employees give them). The first cardboard should be big enough for your shoulders to fit in, the second, smaller one will be for your head.

The big card, I put it on a bit like a T-shirt . So I make a big hole at the bottom to put my head through, a slightly smaller hole at the top so that the cardboard stops at my shoulders but lets my head stick out, and a hole on each side, for the arms.

When it's done, I can put the little card on my head , without forgetting, of course, the holes for the eyes and the mouth.

As I am a perfectionist, I stuck recycled electronic elements on my boxes and I wrapped my legs and my arms in cellophane, for a great metallic effect.

But that's up to you!

So what do you say? Is it great this New Year's Eve? In any case, if you have other costume ideas, don't hesitate to share them in the comments, we're always interested!

Savings achieved

Joke shops sell absolutely overpriced costumes and very very poor quality . Example:a vampire costume, consisting of a thin cape and false teeth, can cost up to €30 !
