Broken the handle on a drawer or cabinet?
Do you want to give a more natural, more vintage look to your furniture?
No need to run to the nearest DIY store!
To repair a drawer handle, there is a simple and economical trick. Very trendy too!
The trick is to replace the broken handle with a cork . Watch:
1. Pass a long screw through the hole in the old handle.
2. Screw the cap on.
Note: to hold the cap well, you can put a dot of glue at its base before screwing it on. Press for a few moments so that the glue sticks well.
There you go, you have a new vintage handle for your drawer :-)
It can be a champagne cork or a wine bottle stopper, depending on the type of handle you want. But the champagne one allows a better grip.
To make it more homogeneous, we advise you to replace all the handles of the cupboard or furniture.
And if that's not your decorating style, the cork will give you an extra handful while you wait to find one on the market.
And if the decorative cork stopper style is really your thing, here's how to make a very designer trivet.
