A few years ago, I bought a pack of paper towels at least once a week at the supermarket...
Until I wondered if there was a way to replace this purchase with something cheaper.
The answer was not far off the shelves:the sponge !
Yes, it seems obvious today but a sponge does not end up in the trash after each little cleaning.
You can use a sponge hundreds of times or even more.
It is a much more economical product, and just as practical and effective than paper towels.
The only small effort to make is to pass it under water to clean it.
The calculation is quick and simple. A pack of 3 paper towel rolls costs on average around €2.
I bought some once a week, which makes a year more than 100 € !
In comparison, a pack of 3 sponges also costs on average around 2 €, but can be used for at least 2 months.
Which amounts to €12 per year!
By replacing paper towels with simple sponges, I save €88 per year . Not a bad savings!
