Ever noticed that your EDF bill was too high? It's time to take it out to challenge it, EDF has announced that it will reimburse the overpayments "from now on".
EDF will finally comply with the requirements of the Energy Mediator by reimbursing, as it should, overpayments of less than 15 euros, announced Le Parisien and Today in France, based on the Mediator's report.
And yes, despite sharply increasing disputes over the past two years, EDF did not reimburse its customers for sums of less than 15 euros. EDF must now repay between 5 and 10 million euros!
Why did EDF not reimburse? The EDF invoice stipulates that in order to obtain reimbursement of sums of less than 15 euros, a request must be made. In the event of a request, however, the Mediator explains that EDF only rarely reimburses.
Your rights to obtain reimbursement? What you need to know is that you have 5 years to be reimbursed for the overpayments. So take out your old invoices and ask for reimbursement if necessary.
A law was passed in 2010 to require automatic reimbursement but, despite everything, the problem seems to persist with many disputes still in 2011. So, to obtain reimbursement, make a request!
