I always have at least 1 air freshener on my shopping list!
You must think my house must really feel bad?
With my 4 children, the dog and the cat, we will say yes, I am interested in things that smell super good :-)
The problem is that commercial air fresheners are expensive !
Luckily, after doing a lot of research, I found THE perfect homemade Febreze recipe!
And at only €0.45 a bottle (yes, you read that right, 45 cents!), I can tell you that I will NEVER buy one of those expensive store-bought air fresheners again.
Frankly, when you know that Febreze sells for at least €3.70 per 30 cl bottle, the choice is quickly made!
Beyond the price, you may be wondering if this homemade recipe is as effective as commercial brands?
Well know that since I started using it, everyone tells me that it smells so good at home!
Thanks to my homemade Febreze, not only have I got rid of toxic products at home, but I'm also saving money.
The little extra? All you need is 3 small ingredients , which you probably already have at home.
I warn you, to try it is to adopt it! So, ready to save money? Here we go, watch:
- 10 drops of lemon essential oil
- 6 cl of white vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of alcohol at 70°
- water
- 1 liter spray bottle
- 1 funnel (optional)
1. Put 10 drops of essential oil in the spray bottle.
2. Pour 6 cl of vinegar into the bottle.
3. Add about 2 teaspoons of alcohol at 70°.
Note: the alcohol will act as a siccative, i.e. it will help the air freshener to dry as quickly as possible on your surfaces (rugs, carpets and upholstery).
4. Fill the rest of the bottle with hot water.
5. Shake well before each use.
There you go, your homemade Febreze at €0.45 a bottle is already ready :-)
Easy, fast and economical, right?
All you have to do is spray it all over the house to make it smell good!
Thanks to this Homemade Febreze , every piece of furniture, carpet and blanket smells clean and fresh.
What surprised me the most was how long my homemade air freshener lasted.
Now when I get home I can't help but smile.
Because the first thing I smell is the pleasant scent of my homemade Febreze.

- lemon essential oil =€9.99 for 50 ml =€0.10 for 10 drops (0.5 ml)
- household white vinegar =€4.59 per liter =€0.28 for 6 cl
- alcohol at 70° =€3.70 for 500 ml =€0.07 for 2 teaspoons (10 ml)
- Total price to make 1 bottle of homemade Febreze =€0.45!
Compare that to commercial Febreze which sells for at least €3.70 a 30cl bottle, and you quickly realize that making your own Febreze is really worth it. kick it!
At €0.45 a bottle, it's literally a fraction of the selling price of Febreze in the supermarket! Pretty good in terms of savings, right? :-)
