As a student you don't always have a very spacious bedroom. Often you have to do it in your apartment or house with not too many square meters. It is important that the space in your bedroom is used optimally. This can sometimes be quite difficult and you don't want to think about it too long. Understandable! In this article I will therefore give you 4 useful tips so that you too can easily save space in your bedroom.
Use the space under your bed
Starting with the place where you spend the most time in your bedroom:the bed. Most people have a double bed (or box spring). This takes up a lot of space in your bedroom. But all this space does not have to be 'lost' at your bed.
You can use the space under your bed to store clothes or other items. For example, you can put your underwear and socks in storage boxes and place them under your bed. Or all those big school books, which you would rather not see 😉
However, be careful with dust, so do not store items 'open' under your bed that are sensitive to this.
Hang the TV on your wall
Sometimes you want to spend your day off in bed and watch your favorite series all day long. Normally you place a TV on a TV cabinet, but these take up an unnecessary amount of space in your bedroom. It is therefore better to hang the TV on the wall.
This way you save a lot of space and you can still watch your favorite series from your bed. Do you want to make it all easier for yourself? Then make sure you have a wall bracket that you can move. This way you can place your TV in the perfect position and, if you want, also view your bedroom from different angles.
Buy a corner cabinet Another lost space that can be put to good use is the corners in your bedroom. I'm pretty sure you're not currently using these spaces. Fortunately, I have a solution for this too, one with which you can also say goodbye to that large wardrobe that takes up a lot of space. I'm talking about a corner cabinet.
As the name suggests, you place it in a corner where two walls meet. This way you can divide that large wardrobe over two walls and make use of the often unused corner in your bedroom. You may be able to purchase an even larger cabinet this way. Good excuse to buy more clothes 😉
Make big
You've implemented the above tips in your bedroom, but you still feel like you're in a cramped room. There are still a few small adjustments you can make to make your room look bigger.
First, make sure your walls are white. White walls give the illusion that your room is larger. The same goes for having light curtains. This also makes your room seem more spacious than it actually is. Finally, you should take it easy with home accessories. Too many (small) home accessories create a busy appearance, so that your bedroom quickly feels 'full'.
