Tips which barbecue to buy

In this article you will find tips which barbecue to buy. With the right barbecue, your bbq/garden party will be a great success. Tips for finding the right barbecue that meets all your wishes.

Barbecuing is always possible:whether it is (high) summer or the beginning of spring, but also in winter, barbecuing is delicious. Whether you choose meat, fish, vegetarian or even a piece of fruit, everyone likes authentic food. However, due to the large supply, it can happen that you no longer see the trees for the forest. Don't worry, I'll be happy to help you and give you tips for choosing the right barbecue.

Choosing a barbecue:which barbecue models are there?

Today, there are plenty of barbecues available in the store. When purchasing a barbecue, it is important to choose one that meets personal requirements. Ask yourself how often the barbecue is used and where (at home or elsewhere). For how many people will the barbecue usually be used and do you want a classic model barbecue with charcoal or rather one that runs on gas. Keep in mind that every barbecue has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Table model barbecue

These are small models of barbecues that are relatively inexpensive, easy to use and portable. Most types are made of lightweight steel or aluminum, making them ideal for two to three people and easy to carry. These usually work on electricity, but there are also new models that work on charcoal, without smoke. Ideal for indoors or if you want to enjoy the authentic taste, but your neighbors are not too fond of too much smoke.

Open BBQ

These are suitable for a courtyard or in the garden. Most barbecues have legs or wheels and are therefore movable. When purchasing, take the height of the barbecue into account, after all, you don't want to end up with back pain after a pleasant evening barbecue. The barbecues, including the corresponding grid, are available in various sizes. A barbecue with a shelf on the side provides extra convenience when barbecuing.

Permanent barbecue

These can be built fairly easily and fairly cheaply. You can make a simple model or a complete outdoor kitchen, with countertops and all. There are ready-made kits for sale that contain everything to make a permanent barbecue. Still build yourself? Then use bricks for the outside and refractory bricks for the inside, which are more resistant to the heat. Use a charcoal grate for the charcoal and attach a grill grate at the most suitable height.

Lockable barbecue

The lockable barbecues have a large, hinged lid that can be closed against the wind. You can also use these barbecues as a kind of oven, when the lid is closed. Ideal when you decide to barbecue in the winter, for example, or if you're not sure about the weather (close the lid and your barbecue can continue regardless of the weather).

Gas BBQ

Not only easy because you no longer have to 'fumble' with charcoal, but also because the gas barbecue is immediately at the right temperature. You can regulate the heat optimally. Here too, the weather conditions are not affected much:there is also a cover as standard.

The different types of fuel for the barbecue

With the exception of the electric and gas barbecue, you will have to use wood or charcoal as fuel.

Charcoal

Generally made of soft wood. Charcoal is easier to ignite than briquettes, but a disadvantage of charcoal is that it burns up faster.

Coconut husk cabbage

Although somewhat difficult to obtain, this type of fuel is very useful for smaller models of barbecues. A nice side effect:the smoke of coconut bark keeps mosquitoes away.

Charcoal briquettes

These produce little odor and smoke during burning. However, it does take a while before they are properly warm, so keep this in mind.

Wood chips or herbs

Can be added to the fire to give the food a pleasant taste. If these are soaked first, they will last longer. Sprinkle them directly over the charcoal while barbecuing or place them on a metal tray under the grill.

Wood

Harder woods such as apple, olive and cherry are best suited for the barbecue.

Once you've purchased the right barbecue, it's high time to try it out.
