Tired of cleaning and degreasing the stove after every meal?
Would you like to never wash your gas stove again?
Well it is possible!
There is a simple and practical trick to never have to clean a stove again.
A friend back from his trip to Senegal gave me the trick of the country:they line the stoves with aluminum foil.
How to
1. Cut sheets of aluminum foil the size of the stove.
2. Cut out the holes corresponding to the cooking plates.
3. Remove the stove grates.
4. Lay the aluminum foil on the stove.
5. Replace the cooking grates.
6. Prepare your meal as usual.
And There you go ! No more dirt on your gas stove :-) No projection of grease or sauce will dirty the stove.
The aluminum foil will pick up any stains and burn marks. So there's no need to clean the gas stove after cooking.
All you have to do is change the foil once it gets too dirty for your taste.
I think once or twice a month is still reasonable.
The notable drawback will surely remain waste.
Aluminum foil isn't great for the environment. But think about it once in a while if you know your oil might jump everywhere!
This comes in handy when frying, dishes that need to simmer with tomato sauce, or preparing a very large meal.
In addition, no need to take new aluminum foil. You can recycle aluminum foil that you have already used for other tasks.
Washing your stove after each meal is another option.
You can also scrape from time to time with a good baking soda scouring cream.
In short, personally, I got into the habit of systematically taking 1 min to wash my stove after use.
But this trick can be useful for some people, right?
